The Ladbrokes.com Irish Poker Festival will be held once again at the best poker venue in Europe, the Irish National Events Centre (INEC) in Killarney, Co Kerry, Ireland. The INEC is at the heart of a vibrant hotel and leisure complex, which includes the famous Thai Angsana Spa. Ladbrokes online package winners will be staying at the Gleneagle Hotel which is adjacent to the INEC.
This is the 3rd year of Europe’s best value everyman tournament and last year 752 players showed up to battle for the 100k first prize. Englishman and Ladbrokes player Thomas Rolfe took down the 1st prize and the honours list reads Ireland 1 and England 1 so far. The 2010 will be absolutely mega with players from all over Europe already booking flights and planning the trip to the home of Irish poker, Killarney.

This year, the three day Festival will be held from the 1st to 3rd October and the €550 Main Event will once again guarantee all players a whopping €250,000 guaranteed prizepool. Players will start with 15,000 chips, one hour blinds and will earn European ranking points.
We have only one major difference this year and that is the recession busting value of the package. The 2010 event package has everything you expect for €900. This includes the €550 buy in to the Main Event and 3 nights B&B at the Gleneagle hotel.
The Festival also includes two side tournaments, a two day €270+30 tournament Saturday 3rd October and a one day €150+20 tournament on Sunday 4th October. You will also have exclusive access to Ladbrokes hospitality facilities. Here you will find a games room with pool and darts to help you relax in between all the poker action.
In addition to the poker, the host town of Killarney is synonymous with Irish hospitality offering a great range of night-life associated with Irish music and having the craic! The Clonmel festival of Poker came to end on the Tuesday with the first Ladbrokes Irish Poker Tour event of the year with a lead up to both the Irish series of Poker and the Ladbrokes Poker Festival Killarney every win will count in the lead up to tickets for teh event .

We started with 76 runners at the start of play and by the last buy in we were up to 87 runners on a tuesday night for the event with a juicy prizepool of €8,700 and a frist prize of €2,500 with a ticket to the Irish series of poker in July also included . Brian Nolan who is a serious Holdem player battled his way through 87 players to take this event down with a tightly fought heads up battle with Waterfords Chris Frisby . It was a toss of a coin at the end of the play and Brian stood up and took down the first title and hits the front on the Ladbrokes Leaderboard . Roll on Dungarvan next month for more action and points

2010 Irish Open, Dublin - Terms and Conditions

1. At any Level (satellite or online final), any player can buy in for cash + fee.
2. Any individual player can only win one seat at the Irish Open, Dublin
3. Microgaming’s package will include: hotel accommodation and entrance into the IRISH OPEN, Dublin on 2nd-5th April 2010. €1,000 towards travel expenses and spending money, which will be credited to each package winner’s poker account.
4. No cash awards will be made from Satellite game seat wins to the next level. All prizes are entries to the next level of the competition with the exception of the final, the prize for which is a Package to each of the winners. The only possible way for a player to be paid a cash award is if there are insufficient entries in a satellite or at the final to cover the cost of additional seats to the next level. In this instance, the nature and value of any award will be determined by Microgaming whose decision shall be final.
5. Microgaming reserves the right to buy-back entire Packages from players who have won a final Package for the IRISH OPEN, Dublin Tournament. The price payable by Microgaming to buy-back a Package will be €5,000.
6. t is the individual winner’s responsibility to arrange their own travel to Dublin for the event and to ensure that all travel documents (passport and visa, as required) are in order and to obtain any required travel and medical insurance. Lack of proper travel documents may be grounds for disqualification. Microgaming will book all accommodation and entry into the Irish Open.
7. By entering the IRISH OPEN, Dublin Online Final or Satellites players agree that their real names, aliases and images can be used for promotional purposes.
8. By entering the IRISH OPEN, Dublin Online Final or Satellites, players agree that, should they win a Package, they will wear Microgaming Operator apparel (hats and/or T-Shirts) if it is provided to them and they will wear the apparel in accordance with the instructions of Microgaming management.
9. Awarding of any and all prizes is at the sole discretion of Microgaming management and any decisions taken by management in this regard are final.
10. Subject to the provisions of rule 6 above, the winner of a seat at the IRISH OPEN, Dublin Online Satellites and/or Final tournament cannot sell, trade, assign or in any way transfer such seat to another person, and Microgaming will not award cash in lieu of a seat at the IRISH OPEN, Dublin Online Tournament or land based Final.
11. As in all tournaments, players may not sit out. Players who are not present shall be “blinded off” and their hands folded until they have no more chips and are eliminated.
12. All satellite games shall be Single or Multi-Table, no-limit Hold’em tables, following standard Microgaming rules.
13. The prizes will be displayed in the tournament lobby as registration closes for each tournament.
14. Decisions as to players’ eligibility to enter the IRISH OPEN, Dublin Online Final and/or Satellites and to remain in and compete in same are at the sole discretion of Microgaming management and any decisions taken by management in this regard are final.
15. Microgaming management reserves the right to deny entry to IRISH OPEN Dublin Online Final and Satellites and/or remove a player or disqualify a player from same and any decisions taken by management in this regard are final.
16. Microgaming management reserves the right to change the rules and/or structure of the IRISH OPEN, Dublin Online Final and/or Satellite Tournaments at its sole discretion. Any decisions taken by management in this regard are final.
17. Players must be of legal age to participate in any of the tournaments.
18. Microgaming shall in no way be liable for any injuries, losses, damages or expenses suffered or incurred by any winner of a Package as a direct or indirect result of accepting the Package and participating in the Irish Open, Dublin.
19. LEGALITY, INFORMATION DISCLOSURE AND TAXATION OF WINNINGS: Microgaming jealously guards its participants’ privacy. However, there may be circumstances in which disclosure of information to regulatory or fiscal authorities is necessary or desirable, and Microgaming reserves the right to release information in such circumstances. Please note that Microgaming cannot advise on the tax position of winners, as some jurisdictions treat poker wins as tax free, while in other jurisdictions such proceeds are taxable. If the winnings are taxable in your jurisdiction, you are solely responsible to keep track of and report your winnings to the appropriate authorities. Hi Players,

Here is our planned schedule for 2010 for your perusal. We still have more to add and will announce these in the coming weeks. Next year we expect to payout over €1,000,000 in prize pools. Please note that all structures and Guarantees are subject to change in the coming weeks when we confirm all Event details and dates. We will announce official threads for the structure of each event closer to the dates. We are announcing dates now to keep our poker playing public well informed, so you can plan for 2010.

Next year we are delighted to announce 4 Provincial Tournaments. Here we will have the four provinces battling it out to define the individual poker champion of each province. This is something that we have been planning for some time now and we are delighted to have involved some of the best poker Operators with us.

We have two new Events next year the Irish Series Of Poker 2010 which replaces our Waterford Open Festival which we held each summer. This hits Waterford in July with a Main Event buy in of €1,000. We expect this to be a 250 capacity sell out with the Sponsor to be announced shortly. We have already negotiated 100 online seats and we would expect to fill this event with offline sats and direct buy ins creating a prize pool of €250,000. The Sponsor and full details will be announced at the launch in January. We are also delighted to introduce the Poker Club/Pub Championship for 2010, with an expected prize pool of €100,000 and 500 players in the grand final.

Also the very successful Ladbrokes Irish Poker Tour will run for the 2nd time in 2010 and will travel the country covering the majority of cities and towns, details of this tour will be announced in the coming weeks.
